Sailboat Fleet Activities

by Pete Macler, Rear Commodore for Sail

The Hill Country Yacht Club (HCYC) is an active racing club and a member of the Yachting Club of America, Texas Sailing Association, and the US Sailing Association.

HCYC sponsors at least one race per month. Our PHRF racing program is designed for keel boats, open to all Sailors on Canyon Lake. Our fleets generally include non-spin, cruisers and big boats (30' and longer)

The goal of our sail program is to provide opportunities for sailors of all skill levels to enjoy sailing and to provide opportunities for all sailors to improve their skills through education and an active racing program.

Whether you are a novice sailor or an experienced yachtsman, there is something here for you. We offer:
Start of Presidential Race
  • PHRF Handicap Fleet Racing
  • Summer Beer-can Racing
