Member, Randle Moore attends Advanced Race Management Siminar
Over the weekend, HCYC member, Randle Moore, attended US Sailing Assoc. Advanced Race Management Course held at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans. The facilities of the club, established 1849, are very nice, but the docks of the adjacent public marina have had little, if any, repair since hurricane Katrina in 2005. Click for pictures.

Former Commodore, Marty Chrisman, and former Secretary, Joy Clayton, demonstrated they know how to set priorities when they set sail on January 1, 2017. Sailing on New Years Day has been a long standing tradition on Canyon Lake for many years.

Old and Current HCYC members celebrating New Years Eve Dec. 31, 2016
Great New Years Eve parties were held around the lake including a few past and current members aboard John and Elaine Ruiz's boat. Present were founding member Marsha Teague, Joy Clayton and Marty Chrisman, Bob and Sherry Willis, Jerry and Stacey Gibson, Randle Moore, and LCYC guest Bryant Bowington.
2016 Parade Of Lights Another Great Success
Another Parade of Lights has come and gone. 12 power boats entered the parade and were brightly illuminated. The Parade route ran Canyon Lake Marina to Kings Point, then turned southeast to the dam along the south shore. On the return trip to Canyon Lake Marina, the parade followed the north shore passing close to LCYC and Jacob's creek Park.
