I hope everyone has been able to take advantage of our fantastic weekend weather during the month of May and enjoy the activities at the Club.  We just completed another month with more youth activities thanks to Velma Smith, Karen Bazar and Sheri Murphy. Our annual Jamaican-Me-Crazy race, meal and party was a great success, thanks to: our hardworking youth for all of the “island” decorations; our Rear Commodore of Sail, Marty Chrisman & chase boat crew Jessie Murphy and Charlie Teat for managing a safe and successful race; our Social Directors Mary Beckett and Christine Finleon who (along with volunteer jerk chicken cookers serving help) created a fantastic meal.  Thanks also all the members who attended enjoyed some great music by Island Texas, one of our favorite bands.

I would like to also thank Sharon Freeto for volunteering her time to bless our fleet.  She was delightful, and I was honored to have her on board.

Carol Teat deserves recognition for her efforts in helping us welcome several new members this month.  Despite higher fuel prices, we seem to be enjoying a renewed interest in boating.

June's calendar includes a new member reception and Youth activities on the 7th, a beginner’s race seminar, the Rookie Regatta and a potluck dinner and our quarterly meeting on the 21st.  Please make the effort to attend our quarterly meeting.

Let’s all have a great summer and plan to get out to the lake as often as possible.

Fair winds,
John Larkin
