On Saturday, March 15^th, we held our annual St. Patrick’s Day party that turned out to be complete success! Our dear friends and fellow members, Pat & Rex Roe, sponsored the event and we must send them a huge ‘Thank You!’ They spent 3 days making 30 gallons of their famous Irish Beef Stew, complemented with cornbread and a fresh tossed salad. It was absolutely delicious and I don’t think there was very much left over. I, myself had 4 bowls - just kidding. J

We would also like to thank John Larkin, Dave Herrington, and Sharon Austin for helping with the clean up. I know that being part of the ‘clean-up crew’ isn’t as glamorous as we would like it to be, but the cooks are so grateful for the volunteers that help, we always need to include them in out list of ‘Thank-You’s.

After dinner, we enjoyed a night of beautiful karaoke music provided by our very own members. We had a lot of fun, and found that some of our new members are very talented (Wendy & Cherise - I’m talkin’ about you!). Participation started slow, but we all knew that would change after a bit of socializing. It was the first time that I had ever run a karaoke machine, and I did appreciate everyone’s patience with me.

Our next social event will be the Fiesta Regatta party, held on Saturday, April 19^th.  Come join us for some Tex-Mex fare, family fun, and dancing. Gitano (Spanish word for ‘Gypsy’) – featuring Evangelina, will be our entertainment for the evening.
