What do you call a turkey dinner before Thanksgiving? You call it a yacht club party. About 70 people joined their friends and fellow boat enthusiasts for a full scale thanksgiving style feast. And when the night was over, the bird was the only thing in the room that was not stuffed. Thank you, Joy, for a delicious treat.

December brings two traditional HCYC events – the Parade of Lights and the Annual Chile Cook-off. On the day of the parade, Dec 8, when you are out there in the cold, wet weather attaching lights and other festive decorations to your boat, you can enjoy lunch at the yacht club. If the weather indeed does present a December-like weather, there will be a hot and hearty soup. And, if the unpredictable Texas weather gives us a warm day, we’ll have a sandwich bar for your enjoyment.

Thanks to Caroline Dechert, Elaine & Johni Taylor for assisting in the food preparation and the clean-up and to Mary Beckett for helping serve. You help make the job of the Social Director doable. I hope more of you will volunteer to help Mary Beckett & Christine Finleon in 2008.

See you at the lake,!
Marty and Joy
