Well a good part of this summer was not as social as many of us would like. If you have not been to the lake lately, it is really beautiful – full of water and people finding ways to go boating. We have a full social calendar coming up. We are going to have our annual shrimp boil party to celebrate the end of a season and the start of a new one. So make your way over to Cranes Mill Marina on September 1 st. Take the pleasant shuttle boat ride over to the Canyon Lake Marina and join us for some fun and good food. At this point in time, we may have a band for the party though we will not have that confirmed until after the Ships Log goes out. If we don’t have them play this weekend, we’ll add a band to an already planned party. Come be social.Also, it is not too early to start planning your Halloween costume. Put your creativity to work on come up with something fun and clever. Last year we had a regatta on 2 feet – complete with a committee boat and many other fun disguises. Get together with some of your marina buddies and come up with a group costume – the more the merrier. Speaking of merry, we have a potluck coming up on September 15 th. We have so many good cooks in our club and it is amazing what some of you can “whip up” in your galleys. Brush up your recipes and check the assignments below. See you soon.The next HCYC Party (on Saturday, September 15 th) is a Pot Luck. The club will be providing rotisserie chicken. Please prepare and bring a dish according to the following assignment by the 1st letter of your last name.
