Welcome to the Hill Country Yacht Club (“HCYC”) website. This website is for both guests and members of HCYC. Both sail boaters and power boaters enjoy the benefits of HCYC. We have activities throughout the year, ranging from sail boat races, power boat events, club parties and even have events for the children of members. When the weather is not pleasant, we have a comfortable clubhouse for relaxing and visiting our good friends. Our open deck provides additional meeting and greeting space. New members are welcome; if you have an interest, please contact our Membership Chair by clicking on the link below.
The website contains information about what we have done as well as our future calendars. Please check it from time to time for current information.

HCYC is a non-profit educational/fraternal organization, whose business is administered by the elected Executive Committee and appointed committee chairpersons. HCYC works through its volunteers. We have modest dues that support a broad range of activities and the clubhouse at Canyon Lake Marina. Last year we added a Sunfish dock for youth sailing. As much fun as boating is, it is even better with the friendships that are built through HCYC. Having family fun while learning and practicing the rules of safety and new boating skills makes the lake experience even better.

The mission of HCYC is to promote sailing and power boating as wholesome family sports, and to provide the facilities and organization for instructional, competitive and social activities. The instructional programs include beginning sailing, racing, and boating safety. The competitive activities include PHRF racing.

The HCYC is a member of Yachting Club of America, Texas Sailing Association and U.S. Sailing Association. The club began operation on January 1, 1997 with merger of the Alamo Yacht Club (founded in 1971) and the Texas Yacht Club (founded in 1983). Currently HCYC has approximately 170 family memberships and is growing.

The club is located in the Texas Hill Country approximately 45 miles North-North East of San Antonio and 45 miles South West of Austin. HCYC is on the property of the Canyon Lake Marina on the North Shore of Canyon Lake. For an area map, click here.
