WiFi is now installed at HCYC and is available to all members as part of your membership. You are able to receive WiFi even while you are in your boat slip. Internet access is provided by DSL through Guadalupe Valley Telephone Cooperative with the monthly service fees covered by the club. The wireless access is provided through antennas on the clubhouse and is secured with a passcode. Obtain your personal passcode from Bill Fahey - Club Treasurer. We need your help though. The cost to purchase the equipment and have it setup is not covered by the club budget. So far $600.00 of the needed $1100.00 has been pledged by other members of the club. We need additional donations in order to complete the installation. The donations have been in $100.00 increments but anything, more or less, would help. Please email your donation pledge to Nathan Birney at nbirney@att.net. |

I would like to take the opportunity to welcome you to the website of one of the most unique and enjoyable yacht clubs in the world. All of the members of the Hill Country Yacht Club (HCYC) are proud to say that we encourage both power boaters and sailors to take part in a variety of events throughout each year. This site is updated on a regular basis and both current members and visitors to this site can view all of the events and club activities we have scheduled. If you are a visitor, we trust that this web site will introduce you to our club and describe some of the activities that are available. The Executive Committee and Appointed Officers have planned activities and events for the enjoyment of all boaters and their families. We are a relaxed, family oriented club, but we are aware that safe boating results from training, practice, and attention to the rules and regulations. The mission of HCYC is to promote sailing and power boating as wholesome family sports, and to provide the facilities and organization for instructional, competitive and social activities. The instructional programs include beginning sailing, racing, and boating safety. The competitive activities include PHRF racing. The HCYC is a member of Yachting Club of America, Texas Sailing Association and U.S. Sailing Association. The club began operation on January 1, 1997 with merger of the Alamo Yacht Club (founded in 1971) and the Texas Yacht Club (founded in 1983). The twin goals of HCYC are promoting sailing and power boating as wholesome family sports, and providing the facilities and organization for instructional, competitive and social activities. The instruction programs include beginning sailing, racing, and boating safety. The competitive activities include PHRF racing. The club has approximately 150 family memberships. The club has both power and sail fleets with about an equal split between power and sail. The club is located in the Texas Hill Country approximately 45 miles North-North East of San Antonio and 45 miles South West of Austin. HCYC is on the property of the Canyon Lake Marina on the North Shore of Canyon Lake. For an area map, click here.
